Love these moments

These moments don't happen quite as often now, but I love them just as much as ever! Henry now tends to nap in his crib, but today he got himself over-tired, and finally fell asleep snuggles in my arms. I wasn't going to complain!

It's football season!!

We enjoyed some family time and football today while watching the Husker season opener. Henry seemed interested. Sebastian...not so much...

Ready for FOOTBALL!!

It's here-it's finally here!! Football season! Henry and I donned our Husker gear for College Colors day today, in preparation for the season opener. Then just a few more days until NFL football starts. And Tim got HD boxes for all the TVs just in time. This household is ready! Go Big Red!

Daddy's Monster

Daddy gave Henry his bath tonight. Both boys did very well :)

Another new toy!

Henry's newest toy got delivered today. He got an exersaucer-beach themed of course! He's still a little small for it, but then we ended up rolling a blanket to help prop him up and he loved it. He talked to all the toys, and bounced up and down. He's still working on turning the seat around. This should provide for lots of entertainment (for Henry and for us...)

Happy to be home!!

It was so nice to pick Henry up today, and catch up on baby smiles and babbles. I missed this face (along with his daddy's and puppy's!)

My first overnight away from Henry

I'm at Outdoor Ed with our 6th graders tonight. I've been lucky enough to come to Outdoor Ed for four years now, and I love going. It's fun to get out of the building, and interact with the kids in a different environment. This year I'm helping on the trust course. Now that it's nighttime, though, I'm definitely missing my boys like crazy!! Tim's been great, sending me photos and videos all evening (puppy included) so I don't feel so far away. I know they're doing fine...it's me that I have to worry about! But this view for two work days isn't too shabby either...

No pictures Mom!

Henry was in his first parade today. We walked with Tim's gym, Mid-America Martial Arts, in the Millard Days Parade. It was a little warm, but Henry was good-natured as usual, and took the opportunity to nap through most of the parade. 

The best part of my day...

...is coming home with this little monster. He usually needs a mini-nap to recover from all the activity of daycare, and I'm certainly not going to turn down some extra snuggles!!

Take me out to the ball game!

This is from Tuesday evening, when Henry experienced his first baseball game. Granted, he only made it through a little over an inning-can't mess with bedtime!-but he did take in the sights and sounds. This kid is up for almost anything!

Little big guy

Henry sat in the big bed watching the news this morning while mommy figured out what to wear.

Stress relief

It was a stressful day at work today-a whole new email system had teachers in a panic, and I was not prepared to teach my first classes of the year. I'm still figuring out this work/family balance (as I will be for years to come, I'm sure.) So tonight I'm employing some stress relief...baby snuggles, some light reading, and an adult beverage. I think I'll be ok :)

Nap time!!

Mom and Dad's bed seemed to be the place to nap this afternoon. Too bad Mom and Dad didn't get to enjoy a nap (though I did rest a little while the kids napped.)

It's exhausting being a baby

Henry does great at daycare, but all the activity wears him out!! He usually needs a mid-evening nap, and still goes to bed at his normal time and sleeps all night. (We wonder every day how we got so lucky to have such a wonderful baby!) Tonight he passed out in his car seat while Tim and I grabbed a quick bite. 

4 month checkup

Henry had his 4 month checkup today. He's now 13 pounds 14 ounces and 25 and a half inches long. He is growing and developing perfectly! He did have to get two shots. He only cried as he got each one, and by the time we got in the car he was smiling again. What a champ!! We are so thankful for this wonderful little boy!

Killing Time

We had a few extra minutes this morning before heading to daycare and work, so we took what Tim calls a "belfie," or baby-selfie.

So many TVs!!!

We had dinner at Brewsky's tonight (yup, Henry's first visit to a bar...) and Henry was of course mesmerized by all the TVs. All-star parenting here... ;-D

Boys' Night

Tim, Henry and Sebastian were on their own this evening while I was at school for open house. They did just fine, other than the fact that I accidentally threw out the formula scoop, making bottle time much more difficult!! They made it through, and Henry was already sleeping peacefully when I got home. He's lucky to have such a good and involved daddy (and so am I!!!!!)

No more swaddles...?

Apparently Henry has figured out how to roll from his back to his tummy, as Tim found him face down in the crib last night! So now we're going to try to leave his arms out in case he wants to try to turn himself back over...we'll see how it goes!

Mama and Henry's first day of "school"

This picture is also from yesterday morning before Henry's first real day of daycare and my first day back to work. Today (our second day) went well again. Henry was all smiles when I dropped him off at Carrie's, and all smiles when I picked him up. Carrie said he flirted with all the ladies (moms). That definitely sounds like our Henry! I'm glad he's in such a loving environment during the day!

Exhausting day!

My boys had an exhausting day today! The return of teachers, all new printers, and finishing putting things together after construction exhausted Tim, a whole day at daycare got Henry, and Sebastian was worn out after having to guard the house ALL day! As for me, I did pretty well. I felt bad leaving the puppy, a little sad leaving Henry, but then I got to see all of my work friends. Crazy as it may sound, it felt kind of nice to be back at work. (We'll see how long that lasts!)

One last day...

I had a meeting this morning, so a couple friends came over to watch Henry and Sebastian. This is what happened after I got home... Poor Sebastian really won't know what to with himself after having someone home for so long! But we'll all adjust :)

Sleep?? Who needs it?

(In my defense, this was supposed to post yesterday...I blame technology...)

Henry seems to have entered a phase where he doesn't think he needs to sleep. He still sleeps at night, but during the day he stays awake until it's meltdown time! Now we just have to try to catch him between wide awake and meltdown, and encourage nap time then :)

Loving my boys

I am taking full advantage of my last few days home with my boys. Poor Sebastian won't know what to do with himself!! Henry will be fine-he'll make new friends and Miss Carrie will take wonderful care of him. And mommy will be okay...after a few days anyway. I'm definitely going to miss these guys during work days, but I am so grateful I got to be home with Henry for almost 4 months before going back to work!

Sunday Funday

Tim and I enjoyed a grown-up afternoon float trip down the Elkhorn River today. It was a beautiful day for it! Then our friends were nice enough to come to our house after so we didn't have to leave Henry for tooooo long. It was a great day, and coming home to this little bugger was the cherry on top!

It's on!

This is for yesterday, since I forgot to post! We went to a friend's house for a long-awaited Mario Kart battle. I'm not sure who trash-talked more, Tim or Jacob! In the end, it came out a tie, but I think they've both met their match!

Still not 100%

Henry's fever seems to be gone, but he's still not quite back to normal. Henry spent most of the day sleeping. Much of this sleeping was done while snuggling with us, which we were happy to do. We're hoping he continues to feel better!
